What comes to your mind when you hear the word “fit” ?

Many people link the meaning of the word “fit” with going to the gym and lifting heavy weights, or squatting everyday.
Part of this concept is true, but it’s not the whole truth about fitness.

According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, fitness is defined as “a set of attributes that people have or achieve that relates to the ability to perform physical activity.”

Being fit requires a lot of determination, hard-work and patience. In order to achieve your fitness goals you need to first understand what fitness is all about, what your goals are, and what components would help you achieve those goals.

There are five main components that differentiate a bodybuilder or a person who goes to the gym everyday, with a fit person.
1-cardiorespiratory endurance
2-muscular strength
3-muscular endurance
4-body composition
5-flexibility

So, in the next blogs i will be sharing my favorite workout routines covering all five components of fitness.

  1. Someone who has strength, stamina and endurance! not one over the other, and being able to lift heavy does not define a ‘fit’ person to me. love how you clarified them! I’m a fitness blogger too! x
